Dreaming of a wedding
A warning in KoreaIn the West a wedding dream usually points to commitment, a new partnership or a big transition.
Many Korean dream books read a wedding the opposite way: as a sign of worry or quarrels ahead. Your own wedding, especially to someone unexpected, can mean a tangle of obligations or friction with people around you. It is a reason to be patient with others, not a forecast for your love life.

The Korean story behind wedding dreams
Several Korean dream books treat joyful scenes with suspicion, following the old idea of yeokmong (역몽), a dream that runs opposite to real life. Weddings in old Korea were also far from simple. A marriage tied two whole families together and brought gifts, duties and expectations that could cause friction for years. A bride traditionally moved into her husband's family home and took on new roles under watchful in-laws. Seen through that history, a wedding stood for obligations and tangled ties more than romance. Dream readers kept that heavier meaning even as weddings became modern celebrations.
Wedding dream: what people do next
Someone who dreams of their own wedding may choose to stay extra patient with coworkers and relatives for a while. Thinking twice before taking on a new promise is another common response. Many people also laugh it off, since dream readings about marriage are a light topic in Korea. Nobody cancels real plans over it.
